I am a photographer, journalist, and visual storyteller. With my unique perspective, I see things and people differently. In every photograph I take, I tell a story about someone's life. It's a responsibility I take to heart because, for me, I am giving someone a gift they can cherish for a lifetime.
Hi! My name is Rae Howard, and I’ve spent over 20 years managing television newsrooms in various capacities across the South. There are countless things I could talk about working in television news, but from my experience, it has always been about the people inside and outside the newsroom.
Everyone has a story.
Since I have been a freelancer for 25 years I have photographed weddings, children's births, funerals, families, events, boudoir—you name it, I've done it. But my heart lies in two places: taking photos of families and boudoir. Two different, but one purpose—I'm telling someone's story.
Growing up in the mountains of eastern Kentucky, my mom taught me the value of a hard day’s work and my younger but much smarter sister Amanda Gail, showed me what courage and strength truly look like. I also have a sweet dog, Brodie Baxter Howard, who loves to sing—especially to “Oceans”by Hillsong—he’s definitely the better singer!
I believe daily laughter keeps me young at heart and maybe even helps fend off those wrinkles—wishful thinking perhaps.
